Baby Namer Privacy Policy

How Baby Namer handles preferences, shortlists and optional partner matching — and what it deliberately does not collect.

01

What Baby Namer is

Baby Namer is a baby-name discovery app from Vela Solutions. It helps you explore names, build a shortlist, and optionally find matches with a partner. It is designed for expectant parents and carers — not as a social network, and not as a product for children to use on their own.

02

Data you provide

Depending on how you use the app, you may enter preferences (for example gender, origin or style), react to names, save favourites, and join or create a shared naming session. If an account or sign-in is required for sync or partner features, we process the contact or identity details you choose to provide for that purpose. Baby Namer does not need access to your contacts, photos or microphone to suggest names.

03

Data stored on your device

  • Preferences — gender filters, origin or style choices, and display settings
  • Saved and shortlisted names you mark as favourites
  • Swipe or ranking decisions while you browse names
  • Optional partner-session or invite state if you use collaborative matching

Local data stays on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the app, or remove it through in-app controls where available.

04

Data sent to our services

When you use cloud-backed features — such as syncing a shortlist, matching with a partner, or generating name suggestions — the app sends the minimum information needed for that request to Baby Namer services operated by VELA SOLUTIONS LTD. Suggestion features may forward preference signals to a cloud language-model or name-data provider to produce results. Vendor credentials stay on the server; the app does not embed third-party model keys. We do not sell your personal data.

05

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers
  • We do not use Baby Namer to collect data about a child’s use of the app — it is built for adults choosing a name
  • We do not require broad device permissions unrelated to naming features
  • We do not publish your shortlist or partner matches publicly
